Allentown School District Foundation Welcomes Jose Rivera and Daniel E. Taglioli to Board of Directors

New board members bring community leadership, professional expertise and deep ties to Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — September 16, 2026 — The Allentown School District Foundation (ASDF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jose Rivera and Daniel E. Taglioli to its Board of Directors. Rivera and Taglioli bring distinct professional and personal experiences to the Foundation, united by a commitment to strengthening the Allentown community and expanding opportunities for its students.

“We are excited to welcome Jose and Daniel to the Allentown School District Foundation Board,” said Patti Bruno, Executive Director of the Allentown School District Foundation. “Both bring something incredibly valuable to this work. Jose understands the power of meeting people where they are and investing in them before a crisis occurs. Daniel brings not only his professional and legal experience, but a lifelong connection to Allentown and to William Allen High School. Their perspectives will make our Board and our work stronger.”

Rivera is a community leader, credible messenger and advocate for second chances who has transformed lived experience into a mission of service.

As a Community Engagement Coordinator with United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, Rivera builds partnerships, leads outreach initiatives and works in violence prevention, reentry, youth development and workforce opportunities to strengthen communities. His work is driven by one belief: investing in people before crisis creates lasting change.

Rivera’s experience working directly with individuals, families, community organizations and local partners brings an important perspective to the Foundation as it continues developing programs and partnerships to support students in and beyond the classroom.

Daniel E. Taglioli

Taglioli is a lifelong Pennsylvanian, Allentown native, attorney, community volunteer and graduate of William Allen High School.

Born at Allentown Hospital in 1983, Taglioli attended the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena School through eighth grade before attending William Allen High School, where he served as captain of the swim team, president of the Student Government Association and a section leader in the marching and concert bands.

Taglioli earned his undergraduate degree from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, where he later worked as an administrator. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2013. While in law school, he served as Chief of Staff and Senior Editor for nonprofit JURIST Legal News and Research Services, Inc. and received the Sutin Prize for distinguished public service.

Until 2019, Taglioli worked for his father as an attorney in the Allentown office of Philadelphia based law firm Markowitz & Richman. After leaving private practice, he began managing rental properties in Allentown and elsewhere.

Taglioli earned the rank of Eagle Scout through the Trexler District of the Minsi Trails Council (BSA) in 2001 and now serves as an adult leader at both the Pack and Troop levels. He also served for six years on the Board of the William Allen Arts Alliance and remains active on its Governance Committee.

In 2013, Taglioli and his wife, Elizabeth, a Philadelphia native and William Allen High School faculty member, purchased a home in Allentown’s West End, where they reside with their three young children. His connection to the city spans generations: as a young child, Taglioli had six living great grandparents and four living grandparents, all of whom called Allentown home and instilled in him a lasting love for the city.

“ASDF is fortunate to have Board members who believe deeply in Allentown and understand that investing in our students is an investment in the future of the entire community,” Bruno added. “Jose and Daniel each represent that commitment in different ways, and I am looking forward to the ideas, relationships, and leadership they will bring to the table.”

The addition of Rivera and Taglioli comes as ASDF continues to expand its support for educational opportunities across the Allentown School District. Through philanthropy, partnerships and community engagement, the Foundation provides resources and experiences that enhance learning and help students thrive.
