It all begins with an idea.
At the Allentown School District Foundation (ASDF), we believe in the limitless potential of every student in the Allentown School District — and we work every day to help that potential become reality.
Founded in June of 2009 as a 501(c)(3) on a simple but powerful idea — that when a community comes together to lift its children, there is nothing they cannot achieve — the Foundation has grown into a vital force for equity, innovation, and opportunity. ASDF has raised over $9.4 million towards our mission is to encourage, promote, support and fund positive educational experiences for the nearly 17,000 students of the Allentown School District.
We do this by working alongside educators, parents, community leaders, and advocates to expand access to high-quality programs in the arts, literacy, STEM, financial literacy, and beyond. From classroom grants that spark creativity, to performances that build confidence and joy, to hands-on learning that prepares students for the real world — our initiatives are designed to meet the needs of the whole child.
Our work is grounded in action — not just hope. Every program we support reflects an investment in the future: the innovators, educators, leaders, and voices who will shape this community and the world.
We also believe deeply in honoring and uplifting our teachers — the people who pour their hearts into classrooms every day. When we support them with resources, innovation, and recognition, we create a stronger, more equitable learning environment for all.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, partners, and champions, we’ve been able to offer grants, scholarships, enrichment experiences, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities — from Broadway field trips for student performers to grants that help young artists and scientists shine.
But our work is far from done. Every contribution, every volunteer hour, every advocate who stands with us helps us go further — because our students are counting on us.
Together, we are building a brighter future. One program, one student, one act of belief at a time.
Thank you for sharing this journey with us,
Patti Bruno, ASDF Executive Director
